A man in Caledonia was found dead on his farm Friday morning after he was apparently gored by a bull.
The wife and brother of Kip Sullivan found his football jersey body Friday morning in tall weeds near a pen that contained long-horned bulls, Racine County Medical Examiner Tom Terry said.
Sullivan's wife told police that her 52-year-old husband went to his farm Thursday afternoon and did not return, Terry said. The wife searched for her husband late Thursday and did not find him.
The wife called the brother Friday morning to help with the search of the farm at 7528 W. River Road, Terry said. The two called authorities after they found Sullivan's body.
It's not clear why Sullivan apparently had been in the pen with the bulls. The bull that apparently gored Sullivan was between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds, Terry San Francisco 49ers jersey said. Several bulls in the pen will be processed at a slaughterhouse, the medical examiner said.
He said Sullivan received significant blunt force trauma, Terry said. Technicians in Waukesha County were performing an autopsy on Sullivan's body on Friday afternoon.
